Summer Institute Scholarship for Art Teachers

The Springville Museum of Art is thrilled to announce a new Summer Institute Scholarship supporting Utah high school art teachers in attending immersive, hands-on studio workshops. Recipients may receive up to $2,500 toward tuition, housing, meals, and travel.


This opportunity is open to teachers who participated in the Annual All-State High School Art Show within the past two years. Applications should include a workshop proposal focused on artistic growth, exploration, and professional development. Recharge your creativity this summer!

Funding for this scholarship is generously provided by the Arrieta-Rees Foundation.

Important Dates:

·      Online application available – Saturday, February 21, 2026

·      Application closes – Friday, April 3, 2026

·      Scholarship recipient notified by April 17, 2026



Eligibility:

Open to active 9-12 grade art teachers in Utah who had at least one student enter the Annual All-State High School Art Show at the Springville Museum of Art in the last two years. (Eligibility not dependent on student acceptance to the exhibition.)

 

Application Requirements:

Applicants must submit a workshop proposal that includes:

·      Title and description of workshop or program

·      A timeline for participation (workshop or program must be completed by August 10, 2026)

·      Goals and outcomes related to personal artistic growth

·      Description of media and materials to be explored

·      Statement on how the experience will contribute to your own creative journey

·      Examples of personal work or link to online portfolio
