ART WORKSHOPS

Join us for art workshops!  All supplies are provided but participants can bring their own materials if they desire. Most workshops are geared to those ages 14 and up. 



Letting Go with Watercolor led by Taraleigh Bennett:

Saturday, April 19, 2025 10:00am-1:00pm 

Letting Go: Discovering the Freedom and Joy of Watercolor. This workshop will help students embrace the fluid and unpredictable nature of watercolor. We will learn to release control, trust the process, and find joy in creative expression.  Perfect for beginners and experienced painters alike. This is an opportunity to explore watercolor in a relaxed and supportive environment. 

Taraleigh Bennett believes that art is more than just something we see—it’s a conversation between what is visible and what lies beyond. Her work blends the beauty of nature with the limitless world of imagination, creating paintings that feel both familiar and dreamlike.

Using oil and watercolor, Taraleigh brings landscapes to life, capturing rolling hills, whispering forests, and luminous skies. At the same time, her abstract pieces invite us to explore emotions and ideas beyond words. Glass Mosaics! with Jolynn Forman

Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 10:00am-1:00pm 

Mosaics have been around longer than the Romans! Come learn how to shape glass and form amazing pictures that will last your lifetime and beyond. We will be exploring the andamento style and the newer contemporary positioning of glass. 

Jolynn Forman has always been driven by creativity, from building towers out of junk to crafting the best treehouse on the block. Art, for her, is a way to create something meaningful—something that touches the soul. She specializes in blending abstract and realism to offer fresh perspectives on familiar subjects.Jolynn holds a BFA from Utah State University (1999), a BA from Utah Valley University (2016), and an MA from the University of Florida (2021). As a dedicated high school art teacher, she finds joy in witnessing young artists transform blank pages into something remarkable. She believes art is essential in reducing anxiety, boosting confidence, and fostering unique ways of thinking beyond traditional schooling. Mood Marks with artist K A 

Monday May 5, 2025 6:00pm-8:00pm 

Teens and adults welcome! Join us as we explore our emotional state (mood) through music and abstract art in a free-flowing creative experience. This is about freedom, not perfection. Let go, create, and discover something new about yourself.workshops consist of creating an open environment for exploratory image-making in a personal sketchbook. Participants are given prompts and exercises that help develop creativity and confidence, while reinforcing the value of drawing and image-making. We use a variety of media and drawing tools to do this. 

K.A. Bushman is a Provo, Utah-based artist with a background in New York, Berkeley, and Santa Fe. She studied Fine Arts at Santa Fe Community College, collaborated with Meow Wolf’s founders, earned a B.S. in Psychology from Utah Valley University, and is pursuing a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Following her brother’s passing in 2019, Kirstiann turned to abstraction to process emotion, blending psychology, spirituality, and nature into her work. Her intuitive yet intricate drawings balance fluidity and precision, capturing the raw complexity of existence. Most recently, her work was exhibited at the Springville Museum of Art’s 100th Annual Spring Salon in 2024. https://kabushman.bigcartel.com/

Collage Portraits Led by Julie Berry

Wednesday, May 14th, 2025 5:00pm-8:00pm 

Collage with mono-printed papers, and other paper and embellishments. Learn the process of mono-printed papers using a gel plate. Use the mono-printed papers to create collage portraits. This workshop is for artists at any stage. Please bring a copy of a portrait (on copy paper not photograph paper). Any special or sentimental papers you might want to include to personalize portrait. 

Julie Berry is a talented artist known for her whimsical and joyful portraiture, capturing the essence of individuals through vibrant, mixed-media works. With a passion for storytelling, Julie uses a variety of materials, including her own hand-crafted mono-printed papers, to create dynamic and unique compositions. Her favorite technique, collage, allows her to breathe life into each piece, celebrating the individuality of the people she paints. Julie’s art invites viewers to feel a deep connection between the subject and the artist, making each portrait not just an image, but a celebration of personality and spirit. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from BYU and extensive training at prestigious institutions, Julie continues to explore new techniques and materials to bring joy and inspiration to her audience. Her works have been featured in numerous exhibitions, including the CNS Art and Soup Charity Event, Holladay Fine Art Show, and the Annual Spiritual & Religious Art of Utah Exhibition. https://juliekayberry.com/
