Whether you are a regular visitor or coming for the first time, you will find within our permanent collections, special exhibitions, educational programs and events, something that will speak to your soul. You may be surprised at what you will find. We might just become your favorite art museum.
Our mission is to foster the visual fine arts, which enhance life, nourish appreciation for our cultural heritage, and encourage critical thinking and an understanding of the creative process. We believe in beauty, quality, and the Classical-Renaissance aesthetic paradigm of our founders John Hafen and Cyrus E. Dallin. Our Spanish Colonial style building is dedicated as “A Sanctuary of Beauty and a Temple of Contemplation” as dedicated by David O. McKay in 1937. We focus on the history of Utah visual fine art, and twentieth century Russian and American Realism.
