A native of Springville, David Cook, has been involved with the Springville Museum of Art throughout his life. As a small boy, when the museum was still officially part of the school, he explored the galleries with his classmates. He was particularly fascinated with the statue of Paul Revere by Cyrus E. Dallin.

Cook believes the “pursuit of beauty and tranquility is a great quest” embodied by the museum. He and his wife, Rebecca, have given countless hours of service to the Museum in addition to their support as members. Cook was originally approached to serve on the board because of his accounting background and went on to serve five years as Treasurer and five years as President. As a life long art appreciator he began to create his own art at the age of 44 after being involved in the Springville Art Commission.

One of his favorite aspects of the Museum is seeing the changing exhibitions and having the opportunity to talk with artists. He enjoys his association with the staff and volunteers who support the museum because they care about “beauty and community and treat the museum as a family” and would encourage anyone with an interest in the arts to get involved.
