Hudson River Revival: Contemporary Landscape Painting
Click here to view exhibition highlights
11 September - 16 October 2009
Artists of the 19th century Hudson River School, such as Thomas Cole and Frederic Edwin Church, painted landscapes of the American northeast after years of study and sketches. Today a group of artists, led by Jacob Collins of New York, are reviving the Hudson River School. They are creating works of art using the same methods, materials and locations as the 19th century Hudson River artists. This exhibit will be the first of the artists’ Hudson River-type paintings. Artists contributing works hail from all over the world including Spain, Italy, London and New York.
